On the cover  it says that it’s the most famous science fiction novel ever written. That may be right to some extent but it sure isn’t the best one. I can honestly say that I’ve had this book in my possession for over 5 years and I still haven’t been able to actually force myself to complete it.

The science fiction part is good for a book that was written in the 60s but the story itself is just not something that can be called the best that I’ve laid my eyes on. It starts out pretty well but then it’s a downward spiral after he ends up this characters house by the name of Jubal. From there and on it turns into a freak show and honestly it’s a show I don’t mind missing. That’s why it will remain in my Put Aside pile for ever and ever til the day a Martian comes by my house and reads it out loud just so he/she/ it can torture me into becoming their slave on Earth.

So…vampires are the new hot thing in Hollywood for those of you who have been in a media coma since last year. The latest addition is The Vampire Diaries based on the book series by author L.J. Smith and it premiers on September 10th on The CW channel.

Many people will definitely compare this with Trueblood and Twilight, but I don’t think that’s fair since these book were written before any of them and the storyline differs…you’ve heard these arguments before right? And to all those who keep complaing that Elena is blonde in the book and the actress isn’t…if that’s your only issue with the whole show then you should just zip it.

All I’m saying is that you should give the show a chance before you rip apart and throw it to the wolves.

There is this Twilight frenzy going around. After the movie came out all the little tween girls (even adult women) started to whisper Edward’s name in their sleep. Just let me say this…Edward is mine! 😛

“About three things I was absolutely positive. First Edward was a vampire. Second, there was a part of him- and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be- that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.”

And I’m sure about three things:

  1. I’m a sucker for romance, even the kind of romance that’s intended for teens.
  2. I will read all three remaining parts.
  3. I’m also unconditionally and irrevocably in love with Edward!
