The story: Wanda is diagnosed with a terminal illness but it doesn’t have to be a death sentence. With a werewolf and a vampire for best friends, she has options that most ordinary people wouldn’t. As Wanda ponders what to do about her mortality, a former vampire who now works for Wanda, Heath reveals he has secrets, and one of them is that his former blood lust has turned into an old-fashioned lust-for Wanda. And he’s already given up too much to lose the love of his lifetimes.

Opinion: Wanda, Wanda , Wanda…what are we going to do with you? I would be in heaven if I had the option to become immortal if I had a mortal disease, most people would jump at the opportunity but do you know what Wanda does instead of feeling happy? She sits around and awaits death, no pun intended. That is until God’s gift to Wanda lands on her door in form of a freaking hot man who brings her back to life.

I feel sorry for Wanda but at the same time I just want to grab her and knock some sense into her. Why would you want to die when you have the option to remain above earth? For the first part of the book she has this whole air about her that says “I’m so vulnerable, take care of me” when it should actually say “I’m successful at my job and I know it!”.

This only lasts for the first 50 pages or so and then things get better, trust me!

The story: Nina always loved the nightlife, she just never expected to be the nightlife. It’s a lousy first day on the job for Nina Blackman when a patient, loopy from the anesthesia, bites her. At least he was cute. But for real drama she can’t beat the next evening. Nina wakes up with a set of razor-sharp fangs, bionic vision, supersonic hearing, and a taste for blood. There must be a good explanation. There is. It’s her patient, Greg Statleon.

Opinion: Niiiiiiina I love you! This is my favourite character in the series! She isn’t afraid of anyone or anything and she has the dirtiest mouth I’ve ever come across. The way she has inner monologues with herself is hilarious and what’s even more hilarious is that she doesn’t find out that Greg aka the big bad sexy as hell vampire can hear her thoughts. Like this part from the first pages in the book:

He was the shit.

B-e-a.uuu-tiful

Delish.

A ten on the wet panty scale.

Maybe if she just admitted it like a mental mantra over and over in her head it would go away. Sort of like a Gregori exorcism. Admitting it was the first step to recovery. “You find me attractive, don’t you?” His words, low, husky, confident, were just the cold douse of water she needed to regain her perspective. What an arrogant son of a bitch.

As I said before, Accidentally Dead, is my favourite book in the Accidental Friend series. She doesn’t take crap from anyone but she isn’t to proud to admit when she is wrong either, you just have to twist her arm around hard enough to make her confess, but it’s still a confession right?

If you want to have a good laugh on a rainy and windy* autumn evening then this is the book for you. You don’t have to have read the previous book to follow the story since the books are pretty much independent and not follow-up stories.

*at least it’s windy as hell in Gothenburg!
